Health and Safety Policy of BTHP
- To provide adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from our work activities.
- To consult with all our employees on matters affecting their health, safety and well-being.
- To ensure that employees are provided Group Insurance and Medical Health insurance as per prescribed Company Rules in accordance with Govt Policies in vogue.
- To provide and maintain safe plant and equipment and systems of work to ensure they are safe and without risk to health.
- To ensure the safe handling and use of all substances used in connection with our work activities.
- To provide information, instruction, training and supervision to ensure the competency of all employees to safely carry out their duties.
- To prevent accidents and cases of all work related ill health.
- To ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to ensure adequate resources (time, money and manpower) are available for this policy to be implemented.
- To provide appropriate personal protective equipment without cost to employees.
- Hazards, which may exist in connection with the work activity, are identified and eliminated through risk assessments. Where hazards still remain they will be brought to the attention of the person who may be exposed.
- To ensure adequate first aid provision on all work sites.
- To maintain safe and healthy working conditions.
Safety & Environmental Protection Policy
The company is committed to achieve the highest Safety Management Standards throughout the organization and help to protect the environment in the area of operation.
Safety management objectives of the Company are:
The company recognizes the importance of the evolvement and commitment of top management in the implementation of the policy.The company achieves its objective with regard to safety and environmental protection by means of the following:
- Establish and insist upon safe operating practices and provide safe and healthy environment in order to avoid harm to health, injury to personnel and damage to property and environment.
- Compliance with mandatory rules, regulations, codes, guidelines and standards applicable to the company’s Safety Management System.
- Maintaining contingency procedures for reporting and responding to serious accidents and hazardous occurrences for minimizing harm to people, property and environment.
- Establishing an effective system of communication within the organization and ensuring people are receiving instructions in a language understood by them.
- Evaluating the Safety and Environmental Management System at defined intervals through internal audits and management reviews.
- Fully cooperate with public authorities and others to mitigate the effects of accidents and environmental damages which may occur.
- Review of policy by the top management annually and whenever deemed necessary.
Compliance with the policy and Safety Management System is mandatory for all staff involved with the Safety Management System. Safety and pollution prevention is everybody’s responsibility. All Staff are instructed to adhere to this policy and the requirements of the Safety Management procedures and instructions.
Safety Precautions Against Fire
- Before closing the offices/premises, it is to be ensured that electrical / electronic equipment is properly switched off. Preferably, the plugs are to be removed from sockets and reconnected the next morning.
- Any sparking/overheating/smoke/smell of burning is to be immediately investigated and defects to be got rectified.
- In case of electric fire main switch is to be switched off immediately.
- It must be ensured that circuit breakers in the distribution board, if defective have been replaced with circuit breakers of equal rating.
- Telephone number of all Fire Brigades should be prominently displayed in the office.
- Adequate measures of firefighting i.e. fire extinguishers/fire buckets should be available at work place. Necessary instructions should be given to all personnel on how to deal with the electric/general fire and these are occasionally to be exercised.
- Inflammable material such as paint, petrol etc should not be stored in confined spaces, with inadequate ventilation without proper safety arrangements.
- The staff on duty during silent hours/caretaker should be sufficiently briefed on who should be contacted in case of fire or theft.
General Safety & Security
All Division heads are to have detailed comprehensive instructions on general safety and security of fixed assets, stocks and personnel, which should be updated from time to time.

- To deal honestly with them and not to involve or engage in any mischievous act or conduct;
- To work to create enduring and positive relationships with them;
- To not to use their standing as employees of BTHP to derive a private business advantage for themselves, any associate or family member nor engage in any other activity which constitutes a conflict of interest between their private and professional roles.
